What better way to start the Halloween season that a horror movie that is almost completely un-watchable, but is so ridiculously horrid that it has to be seen to be believed!
“Plot”: A so-called “snuff” movie involving the exploits of a cult leader leading a gang of bikers in a series of supposedly real killings on film.
The only thing I really dug about the movie was it’s blatantly offensive tagline “The Film That Could Only Be Made in South America…Where Life is CHEAP!”. Que the dramatic piano music! This movie is actually more offensive to all of my senses than an actual snuff film is, and I have actually seen snuff-like movies; well, real murder videos online and crime scene photos, but close enough.
This movie is apparently supposed to be based on the cult like relations of Charlie Manson and the Manson Family, and that’s pretty easy to see. But it was like the directors and screenwriters of this horrid movie were trying to make something horrible on purpose! The plot was seemingly interesting, but you just try to make it 20 minutes through this horrible movie. It’s practically impossible! It’s one of the few movies I couldn’t sit through all the way, bowing out around 45 minutes through. For a movie with an interesting concept, it was extremely boring. And the special effects, while cheesy in a good way usually, were very very bad.
And the acting was worse, however hard to believe that may seem. It’s no wonder why these actors and actresses never acted again! I’m trying not to be overly harsh, but holy hell were they bad. I love how they were credited as being “archival footage”, the directors attempted to make this poor movie look like a real snuff film, and with the shoddy production values they actually succeeded there, they somehow managed to not to shock the audience for very long. People did infact think it was real, but after 20 minutes that theory falls apart and it’s extremely clear that you’re watching an abysmally made film-school drop-out level movie. That’s really harsh, and I apologize, but this movie was extremely bad. So bad that it is somehow slightly watchable on a second viewing. So bad it has to be seen to be believed.
