James Franco Should Make a Film About Rudolph Valentino

The other day I had this vivid dream about the Golden Age of Hollywood; in the dream I was thinking about the movie making process, taking tours of the mogul-ran studios, meeting the actors, and it occurred to me: James Franco should make a movie about Rudolph Valentino.

A little history on Rudolph Valentino: Rudolph Valentino, born on May 6, 1895, was an Italian-American film actor. After immigrating to the United States in 1913, Valentino moved to Hollywood, taking up small film roles until he landed his breakout role as Julio in “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” (1921). Idolized as the “Great Lover” of the 20’s, he starred in several romantic dramas, including “The Sheik” (1921), “Blood and Sand” (1922), and “The Eagle” (1925). His star status was evident after his sudden death in 1926 — at just 31 years old, the actor suffered a ruptured ulcer, causing fans to grieve worldwide.

Let’s face it, not only is James Franco an extremely talented actor, but he’s one of the smartest people in Hollywood, and based off his poetic work for the movies “Howl” and “The Broken Tower” I think he’d be the perfect actor to write/direct/star as Rudolph Valentino. And, although I found “The Broken Tower” to be a little dull and pretentious, no offense, James is still the most qualified actor to pull off this role, and write and direct it. Based on his vast poetry and novel knowledge, I think he’s the perfect candidate and I truly hope he makes a movie about Valentino in the future.
